28 May at Bassetlaw Hospital was the concluding Clap for Carers ended on a high with a very special musical performance by Worksop’s Got Talent 2019 winner, Richard Harvey, which was dedicated to NHS colleagues locally and nationally.

Over 10 weeks, the clap had become a weekly ritual across the country and has seen communities come together to recognise and celebrate the health service, carers and key workers.

Richard, whose mum Shelley works at Bassetlaw Hospital, has been serenading his neighbours on Thursday evenings and was approached by Bridget Baines, a Sister at the Hospital, and asked if he would sing outside the hospital for staff and patients.

As of 3 June, colleagues at DBTH have cared for more than 600 Covid-19 positive patients, with almost 350 safely discharged since March.
